Serenity Saturday

Hello my sensuous kittens,
I woke up a little tense this morning and thought to myself, "OMG, it's going to be one of those days".  But then I had to just stop for a moment and think to myself, "I am not going to allow myself to feel this way or have a bad day".  Therefore, I started to focus on my breathing.  This simple meditation technique actually helped me so I decided to share it with you.
Set aside five minutes (if you have more time that's great), sit on a comfortable chair or bed- do not lay down, this is like the kiss of death- you might just fall to sleep.  Once seated comfortably keep your spine straight, place your hands on your thighs, and close your eyes.  Now breathe slowly and deeply, inhale and exhale five counts each through your nose.  Repeat and continue for five minutes.  Your sitting posture and breathing increases the supply of oxygen to your lungs and therefore stimulates the heart.  This meditative technique will put you in a relaxed state, and when you're relaxed it is easier to deal with daily stressors.
After my five minute relaxation session, I thought of things I should be grateful for and gave thanks for my blessings.  If you have a healthy family, give thanks, if you have just been able to pay the last note on your car, give thanks, regardless of what it is, be thankful.  When you accept these blessings, it leaves little room for negativity.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello Everyone,
Just wishing everyone a Happy Turkey Day!  Gobble Gobble! Bon Appetit! Buen Provecho! Guten Appetit!

* FYI: Does eating turkey make you sleepy?  There has been an ongoing debate on whether turkey is the culprit for why an individual feels tired after a Thanksgiving feast.  The amino acid L-Tryptophan has a sleep inducing effect which is found in turkey.  Tryptophan metabolizes into the neurotransmitters, seratonin and melatonin.  Both of these neurotransmitters promote a calming effect and regulate sleep.  The only catch is that other foods such as poultry, meat, and dairy products also have L-Tryptophan and it has been found that turkey does not have any more L-Tryptophan than these foods.  Soooo, scientists or whomever does the studies on such things still haven't proven whether turkey is to blame.  It could be the amount of alcohol people are consuming while eating.  Ah, what the hell, eat, drink and be merry!

Maybelline Great Lash and Cover Girl Lash Blast: Review and Comparison

Hey my Sexy Bitches,

The time has come for me to do a review and comparison on two fabulous mascaras. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find my mother's digital camera and since I don't have my own I was not able to take any pics to demonstrate. I guess I'll put a dig. camera on my wish list for X-mas. And as soon as I can I will update this blog with pics when I get my hands on a camera.

Let's get started, in the past I used Maybelline Great Lash mascara religiously, until for some reason they changed the brush. It appeared a slight bit smaller. I have very, very long lashes (you will see when I upload some pics) hence using this waayyy too small brush was too hard to use. I would recommend a small brush like this to someone with sparse or short lashes. Therefore, soon enough I started wearing different mascaras. And that's when I came across Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara.

Lash Blast is an AMAZING mascara that definitely builds up your lashes and gives lots of volume- not for the faint of heart. It comes with this large brush that grabs my lashes and the formula does wonders for them- creates fullness. I wouldn't suggest this mascara for someone with sparse or limited lashes because the brush is too big to grab them. My mother, who has short lashes, tried it and she was not happy with this mascara- so be warned. The price range is from $6.00 - $8.00, which is pretty reasonable.

Back to the Maybelline Great Lash mascara- they recently came out with a Great Lash Big, which has a BIG brush like Lash Blast. I was sooo happy when I saw this in the store that I immediately bought it. Mind you, I did not stop wearing this mascara because it didn't do the job, I stopped using it because of the size of the brush, but now the size of the brush is not an issue. First of all, the formula to this mascara is phenomenal, it conditions the lashes and doesn't leave them brittle or dry. No Clumping is a plus. And the price is excellent, $5.00 to $6.00.

Time To Compare:
1. The price range is different but just slightly.
2. May. Great Lash is a little more conditioning than the C.V. Lash Blast.---May. Great Lash has a buildable formula and C.V. Lash Blast has a thicker formula. One coat of the Lash Blast will suffice.
3. May. Great Lash gives me extra length, where as C.V. Lash Blast gives me fullness and volume.

Which one would I choose? I can't choose one over the other, I truly love them both. I will keep both of these in my makeup kit depending on what effect I am looking for.

Ladies, definitely give these two mascaras a shot and get back to me on that.

New Moon Review

Hello Kitties,

I just wanted to give a quick review: today I took my daughter to see the hit new movie New Moon.  Ok, I must admit I wanted to see it too, I am a vampire fanatic.  Mind you, I haven't been to a theater in a long time because there is always some idiot kicking the back of my chair, someone yapping, or someone sitting in front of me with a big ass head, Aaaaargh! but I decided to take one for the team and take my daughter in the hopes that I wouldn't have any issues.  FYI: everything turned out ok!  The only thing that annoyed me was when the ticket person tried to charge me adult price for my daughter.  Uh, helloooo!  What, are you getting commission for charging adult prices for children, potato head?!

Anywho, generally when I think of vampires, I think of a lot of neck-biting and gore.  However, with the Twilight series I guess it's targeted to the younger generation and therefore it is not as, for lack of a better word, "vampirish".  I have to say though I really, really, really loved it.  Besides it having to do with vampires and werewolves, looking at some hot, young guys ain't too bad either.  Can you say "Jail Bait"?  Besides all that good stuff I don't want to give away any details and spoil it for anyone.  I really recommend this movie to anyone who likes vampires/werewolves and also to anyone who just wants to head to the theater and watch a good flick.  It's a must see.  Two thumbs up!  Big up and five stars to New Moon!
