OOOPS....I DID IT AGAIN!

Woo-hoo! I went shopping again this week and this time I had an accomplice---- my sister.  We went to a thrift store together and had a blast.  We also found many different items to make us happy...atleast for a little while.  I never said I didn't have a problem, it's quite obvious I do but that's another blog topic left for another day.  For now, I want to show you all the cutesy things I purchased with such joy: stay tuned my chickies.

Thrift stores are the best!

I just love going to thrift stores, you'd be surprised of all the things you can find. I recently found a pair of Candie's shoes in mint condition, a hobo bag and a Shu Uemura makeup bag. And spent about $20.00 for all 3 items. Isn't that fabulous?! Don't be shy, run don't walk to your nearest thrift or consignment shop! Muah!

Target Haul

I had a field day the other day at Target.  They had a sale on tanks and tees.  I just love their tank tops and t-shirts.  They're a must have staple in my closet.  I wear them alone or under a blazer or layer them.  Oh what joy!

Beautiful Nails Without A Salon

If you're anything like me, I hate going to a salon and getting my nails done. The reason being I just don't have enough hours in my day to sit there in the uncomfortable chairs while smelling the fumes that come out of those tiny nail polish bottles or acetone wafting in the air into my sensitive nostrils.  Let's not forget they sometimes use the same products or items on everyone that frequents the salon (eeeewwww gross!)  I can go on forever about why I don't like getting my nails done.  However, I have a way of having my nails look like I just stepped out of the salon without actually having stepped in one and without having the commitment of having an inch of acrylic attached to my nail to create long nails.

One day I was going to a party and my nails were looking quite shabby; being that I had no time to get them done I applied some "press on nails".  Yeah that's right PRESS ON NAILS!  No one was the wiser and yet my nails and hands looked fabulous.  And yet I didn't have to commit to having them or getting refills to keep them long.  They generally last about a week which is fabulous for someone like myself who hates dealing with maintenance.  Who would've thunk it?

Here are a few steps in applying temporary false nails:
First I like to soak my hands in warm water and then I buff my natural nail (*optional I push back my cuticles).  Afterwards I set up my tools on a flat surface (e.g. the glue and nails)
I used Fingr's Natural Fit and Kiss Everlasting glue
Next I select a nail that matches my natural nail size and lay them in the right order to make it easier.

Once I have all the correct nail sizes, I apply a drop of glue onto my natural nail, I then press the artificial nail onto my nail bed. Hold gently for a couple of seconds until glue dries.  The end result salon beautiful nails.

Summer Time!

Summertime is now among us, woo-hoo! Isn’t this exciting?! Well, I must say it has been a little too hot for my taste but I won’t rain on anyone else’s parade. Well, regardless if you love or hate the summer there are a number of necessities a girl must have. Here are some of the basics just to get you started:

1. Maxi Dress: These dresses are so comfortable and come in a variety of styles. I luvs these dresses- they cover all sorts of flaws, not that I have any (wink, wink)

2. Tunic Shirt(s): One staple a girl must have in her wardrobe. Can be worn with damn near everything or over a bathing suit. Just sexy, I tell ya!

3. White Bottoms: Whether its pants, shorts, or skirts, the white bottom can be dressed up or down. Can you say scrumptious?

4. Sandals or Wedges: These are quite the necessity for keeping your little tootsies cool and showing off a rockin' pedi.

5. Camisoles: Camisoles are useful pieces to have in your attire. Cotton or lacy, worn with shorts or a skirt, can be made to wear from daytime to evening.

6. Hobo or Beach Bags: Yes, Yes, Yes, the ultimate for lugging around your beach items and more so. These types of bags are roomy but trendy, you can carry everything but the kitchen sink in these bad boys.

7. SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN: Whether you’re a beach bum or the indoor or outdoorsy type, this product must be worn daily- I can’t stress this enough. Unless you’re aching to look like weathered leather, don’t skimp on this summer must have. Year after year, it is uttered wherever you go, the sun’s rays can cause serious damage, so protect your skin. I don’t know about you but I want to keep my youthful appearance, even if that means being a little pasty.

Well, my kittens, I hope this helps you on your way to a wardrobe makeover, at least for the summer…

Muah!

Serenity Saturday

Hello my sensuous kittens,
I woke up a little tense this morning and thought to myself, "OMG, it's going to be one of those days".  But then I had to just stop for a moment and think to myself, "I am not going to allow myself to feel this way or have a bad day".  Therefore, I started to focus on my breathing.  This simple meditation technique actually helped me so I decided to share it with you.
Set aside five minutes (if you have more time that's great), sit on a comfortable chair or bed- do not lay down, this is like the kiss of death- you might just fall to sleep.  Once seated comfortably keep your spine straight, place your hands on your thighs, and close your eyes.  Now breathe slowly and deeply, inhale and exhale five counts each through your nose.  Repeat and continue for five minutes.  Your sitting posture and breathing increases the supply of oxygen to your lungs and therefore stimulates the heart.  This meditative technique will put you in a relaxed state, and when you're relaxed it is easier to deal with daily stressors.
After my five minute relaxation session, I thought of things I should be grateful for and gave thanks for my blessings.  If you have a healthy family, give thanks, if you have just been able to pay the last note on your car, give thanks, regardless of what it is, be thankful.  When you accept these blessings, it leaves little room for negativity.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello Everyone,
Just wishing everyone a Happy Turkey Day!  Gobble Gobble! Bon Appetit! Buen Provecho! Guten Appetit!

* FYI: Does eating turkey make you sleepy?  There has been an ongoing debate on whether turkey is the culprit for why an individual feels tired after a Thanksgiving feast.  The amino acid L-Tryptophan has a sleep inducing effect which is found in turkey.  Tryptophan metabolizes into the neurotransmitters, seratonin and melatonin.  Both of these neurotransmitters promote a calming effect and regulate sleep.  The only catch is that other foods such as poultry, meat, and dairy products also have L-Tryptophan and it has been found that turkey does not have any more L-Tryptophan than these foods.  Soooo, scientists or whomever does the studies on such things still haven't proven whether turkey is to blame.  It could be the amount of alcohol people are consuming while eating.  Ah, what the hell, eat, drink and be merry!

Maybelline Great Lash and Cover Girl Lash Blast: Review and Comparison

Hey my Sexy Bitches,

The time has come for me to do a review and comparison on two fabulous mascaras. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find my mother's digital camera and since I don't have my own I was not able to take any pics to demonstrate. I guess I'll put a dig. camera on my wish list for X-mas. And as soon as I can I will update this blog with pics when I get my hands on a camera.

Let's get started, in the past I used Maybelline Great Lash mascara religiously, until for some reason they changed the brush. It appeared a slight bit smaller. I have very, very long lashes (you will see when I upload some pics) hence using this waayyy too small brush was too hard to use. I would recommend a small brush like this to someone with sparse or short lashes. Therefore, soon enough I started wearing different mascaras. And that's when I came across Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara.

Lash Blast is an AMAZING mascara that definitely builds up your lashes and gives lots of volume- not for the faint of heart. It comes with this large brush that grabs my lashes and the formula does wonders for them- creates fullness. I wouldn't suggest this mascara for someone with sparse or limited lashes because the brush is too big to grab them. My mother, who has short lashes, tried it and she was not happy with this mascara- so be warned. The price range is from $6.00 - $8.00, which is pretty reasonable.

Back to the Maybelline Great Lash mascara- they recently came out with a Great Lash Big, which has a BIG brush like Lash Blast. I was sooo happy when I saw this in the store that I immediately bought it. Mind you, I did not stop wearing this mascara because it didn't do the job, I stopped using it because of the size of the brush, but now the size of the brush is not an issue. First of all, the formula to this mascara is phenomenal, it conditions the lashes and doesn't leave them brittle or dry. No Clumping is a plus. And the price is excellent, $5.00 to $6.00.

Time To Compare:
1. The price range is different but just slightly.
2. May. Great Lash is a little more conditioning than the C.V. Lash Blast.---May. Great Lash has a buildable formula and C.V. Lash Blast has a thicker formula. One coat of the Lash Blast will suffice.
3. May. Great Lash gives me extra length, where as C.V. Lash Blast gives me fullness and volume.

Which one would I choose? I can't choose one over the other, I truly love them both. I will keep both of these in my makeup kit depending on what effect I am looking for.

Ladies, definitely give these two mascaras a shot and get back to me on that.

New Moon Review

Hello Kitties,

I just wanted to give a quick review: today I took my daughter to see the hit new movie New Moon.  Ok, I must admit I wanted to see it too, I am a vampire fanatic.  Mind you, I haven't been to a theater in a long time because there is always some idiot kicking the back of my chair, someone yapping, or someone sitting in front of me with a big ass head, Aaaaargh! but I decided to take one for the team and take my daughter in the hopes that I wouldn't have any issues.  FYI: everything turned out ok!  The only thing that annoyed me was when the ticket person tried to charge me adult price for my daughter.  Uh, helloooo!  What, are you getting commission for charging adult prices for children, potato head?!

Anywho, generally when I think of vampires, I think of a lot of neck-biting and gore.  However, with the Twilight series I guess it's targeted to the younger generation and therefore it is not as, for lack of a better word, "vampirish".  I have to say though I really, really, really loved it.  Besides it having to do with vampires and werewolves, looking at some hot, young guys ain't too bad either.  Can you say "Jail Bait"?  Besides all that good stuff I don't want to give away any details and spoil it for anyone.  I really recommend this movie to anyone who likes vampires/werewolves and also to anyone who just wants to head to the theater and watch a good flick.  It's a must see.  Two thumbs up!  Big up and five stars to New Moon!

Bloody Night...

Halloween is around the corner everyone!  Yippy!  For those of you who do not have any formal plans for Halloween, why don't you set up a little party of your own and invite a few of your closest buddies.  Now I'm not talking about just another Halloween party, I'm talking about a Vampire party.  This party can be for your closest buddies and be made into a movie night.  The reason behind this idea is due in part of a friend of my sister, who wanted some ideas for a vampire party.  Since I LOVE VAMPIRES I jumped at the challenge.  Anywho, I figured I would share them with you.  These ideas are just to get you started for a small bite-fest.

Decorations:
1. Use black curtains
2. Cobwebs
3. Black Candles and Candelabras
4. Serve food or drinks in goblets and ornate silver platters/trays
5. Hang bats from the ceiling
6. Make a coffin (fake of course) with styrofoam or cardboard
7. Hang garlic strands on different random locations throughout
8. Tell your guests to bring their own fangs or you may provide them, whatever is cost effective
9. Black Roses (Use white roses and dip them in food coloring, I read this somewhere)

Food and Beverages to suck on:
1. Red Wine: Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz.  Bloody Mary's, and Sangria

Finger foods can be served but labeled with gory names (I can't take credit for this, I found these ideas on a website)
1. Baked skeleton bones (pretzel sticks)
2. Bat brains (popcorn)
3. Candied spider eggs (gum drops)
4. Chocolate dipped houseflies (chocolate covered raisins)
5. Bake some cupcakes, frost them with chocolate frosting, and place halved Milano cookies on them with R.I.P. written with icing
6. Serve tomato soup in test tubes

DVD's:
1. Interview with the Vampire
2. Bram Stokers Dracula
3. The Lost Boys
4. Twilight
5. Fright Night
6. From Dusk til Dawn
7. Salem's Lot
8. Blade

So there you have it!. These are somethings you can sink your teeth into (pun intended)!  Have a very Ghoulish and Bloody Halloween!

Running Behind Schedule! Yikes!/ Don't Pull A Hamstring

Oh my gosh, you guys!  I am soooo sorry for disappearing for awhile, I have been a little busy with things but I'm back.  Alright, let's get down to the nitty gritty, I have missed some important issues I have wanted to talk about.  As you know (or maybe you don't), September 30th was Woman's Health and Fitness Day (told you I was behind), this day is the nation's largest yearly health campaign event for women or sexy kittens like yourselves, of all ages.  This event will be held yearly on the last Wednesday in September.  Why Wednesday?  I don't know but it is what it is.  This day should not be confused with National Women's Health Week which is observed in May.  The reason I mention this, regardless of how late I am posting this, is because women are usually the caregivers of everyone else (spouses, boyfriends, children, parents), and they tend to forget to focus on themselves and their own health, also this is something that should be focused on daily not just once a year.

Don't give excuses about how busy your day is, I know women have to take care of a household and sometimes work full time, or be home with the kids (which is a full time job in its self).  I am a woman so I know we tend to have more responsibilities BUT you have to remember that if you don't take care of yourself, no one is going to do it for you.  When you make your health a priority the health of your family improves as well.  Let me point out, that you do not have to be some health nut or fitness guru to do this.  I don't particularly like gyms, sweaty people all over the place are not my idea of fun nor do I know how to operate the machinery in these places, but you have to do something for yourself.  You can take a brisk walk, buy videos to use at home (I know you have a DVD player), purchase some equipment to use at home or even join a gym, if that is your choice.  It doesn't have to be too crazy just something to get your heart pumping.  And if you can't do an hour worth of exercise because you don't have the time get atleast 20 minutes to a half hour; something is better than nothing.

One of the benefits besides improving your health would be you just feel better about yourself.  Those endorphins will kick in and will make you feel awesome.  Woo-Hoo!  Trust me, Google endorphins and read up on it.  Don't be scared to Google....O.k. Google is your friend.  And when you feel good about yourself people will take notice, believe me.

Gentlemen this goes for you too.  Just like you want to have your woman looking and feeling good about herself, we want the same for you.  So, put down the gosh darn beer and set aside the pizza and look down at your belly.  If it jiggles or if you can't see your Fred Flinstone toes that is a good indication that you should also be taking a little better care of yourself.  As stated above to the women, there are plenty of things you can do to take care of yourself.

Now, let's say you really, really, really don't have the time to exercise (whatever), you still eat throughout the day right?  Take that opportunity to eat better foods and that way you are atleast doing something for your health.  Stay away from fast food---McDonald's is the enemy!

Here are a few links to get you started:

This is the part where I should put a disclaimer stating I am no personal trainer, and you should seek the advice of a physician or nutritionist before starting any health program, I guess just to make sure there are no underlying problems you should be aware of and to make sure your ticker is ok.  So there you have it!

Mortification at its Best

Hello My People,

Just wanted to let you in on one of the most horrific moments I have ever experienced as a bartender.  This past weekend at work everything was going well until- da-da-da-dah, one of our regular clients requested their favorite glass of wine.  After my boss gets me a new bottle of wine from his office, I'm doing my thing getting the corkscrew ready BUT my hands were slightly wet (I am a bit of a germaphobe hence I am constantly washing my hands).  Anywho, I was going to grab the bottle to open it when to my astonishment I didn't have a good hold on the bottle.  Yeeeaaah, you guessed it. The bottle goes tumbling down and everything went in uber slow motion.  Crash- Bam- Boom- Splatter!  The bottle makes the loudest sound of crushing glass I have ever heard!

If you are a bartender, server, hostess, etc. or have just eaten in a restaurant, you know what happens when you hear the loud sound of glass breaking.  Everyone and their mother stops and looks your way.  It got extremely quiet and still, and other customers were just walking in when it happened (out of all the days it should have been slow in that damn place).  I don't get embarrassed easily but I must tell you, at that point in time I was MORTIFIED!  Oh, it gets better.  After the initial shock of the mini earthquake of glass, I have about five of my coworkers helping me clean up the damn wine spill.  They were probably thinking to themselves, why do we have to help clean up after her mess (they were really nice about it though).  Another coworker must have seen the look on my face, because she asked me if I was ok and then told me to breath.  However, my boss couldn't help but make me feel worse, he says, "How did you drop this, pray tell?".  Pray tell? Who uses that kind of English in day to day conversations.  But a moment later, I guess he felt bad for making me feel bad, that he mentions a time when he had made the same mistake.  On top of all that, my boss didn't have another bottle of the wine to give to the customer, I could not have felt more like an ass than I did at that moment.

So the moral of the story being, never attempt to open a bottle of wine with wet hands!  However, I could not leave you with a sad ending.  Nothing could make a person feel better than a good, tasty drink.  I have to tell you, I am not much of a drinker, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to have just one.  Therefore, I have a recipe for one of my favorite drinks:

Kamikaze (This means "Divine Wind" in Japanese)
1 1/2 Oz. Vodka (Any choice is fine Smirnoff, Belvedere, Grey Goose...)
1/2 Oz. Triple Sec
1/2 Oz. Lime Juice

You can also decrease the amount of Vodka to 1 Oz. and increase Triple Sec and Lime Juice to 1 Oz. each.  Shake all ingredients in shaker with ice, strain into a shot glass or coctail glass, or build in a rocks glass with ice; garnish with a lime and serve.  Now that's gooood! : d  Doesn't that put a smile on your face.  Enjoy! Muah!

Cami (=^_^=)

****PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY****

A little history on Kamikaze:  It is believed to have been created in Yokosuka, Japan and was named after the pilots in WWII, where the airplanes were used as explosives by aiming it at specific targets to cause a huge explosion, with the pilot having little regard for his own life.  Put that in your back pocket!

Women's Fall Fashion

Hello Everyone,

Fall has now graced us with its presence, and a new season of fashion is at hand. Say goodbye to the sexy summer dresses and hello to sweaters and scarves. Fortunately, your fashion sense does not have to be dull during the long fall nights.  Meaning you can still be stylish and chic while keeping yourself warm. Brrrr!

This season there are a number of different trends that can be mixed and matched.  The first being punk rock biker jackets; I LOVES IT!  Gone are the days of regular Harley biker chick jackets. These coverings are trendy and chic for those of us who like to live on the edge.  Show off your fashion acumen and pair this piece with leggings or a skirt.

The next style would be leopard print. Yowza!  Leopard is pretty versatile, it can be worn as a main piece or just to accentuate an outfit.  For instance a leopard belt, ring, or shoes can compliment certain pieces in your wardrobe.

Menswear and plaid are all the rage. Fedora's, vests, and scarves, Oh My! You can wear a full suit or just pair a few pieces to keep the look feminine.

If you're not into gentlemen's fashion; ruffles and furbelow's might be for you.  This look plays up a woman's femininity (say that three times).  And if you really want to go all out, ruffled underwear might do the trick.  Just kidding!  Unless you're into the Southern Belle look, I would not wear head to toe ruffles.

All of these articles of clothing can be worn interchangeably.  Ladies, do not over do it on just one trend, I cannot stress this enough.  It's like wearing every piece of jewelry in your jewelry box.  Major faux pas!

Well ladies, I hope this gives you a stepping stone for playing dress up during the fall.  Till next time my sexy bitches.  Oh and don't forget to subscribe and follow my blog.  Muah!

This Just In....

Breaking News My Kittens (=^_^=),

Estee Lauder has announced closing the door on its thirty-year old makeup line Prescriptives. CEO Fabrizio Freda and William Lauder sent emails to their employees stating on January 31, 2010, worldwide distribution of Prescriptives will come to an end. However, their website will keep its doors open until all products are sold out, the only product that will stay in production is its… drum roll please… Calyx fragrance.

The reason for this horrible dissolution was due in part of the under-performance of the brand. Prescriptives was pretty much hanging by its fingernails and not meeting the companies organizational goals. So long to its custom made blend of make-up; the Beauty and Makeup Gods must be looking down at us with disbelief. Tsk! Tsk!

Ladies, chop- chop! Get yourselves over to the beauty counter and stock up before supplies vanish.

It’s the end of an era!
